The Man-Diet

I am on a diet. A man-diet. 18 months without men.   Jajaja!

This week was AMAZING and I don't know where to begin. I absolutely LOVE Cochabamba and my companion. For the first time in my mission I have felt like I really would rather be here serving than be at home with my family. (Sorry mom).

This week Bolivia celebrated something called "Día de Peatón" which is Pedestrian Day. This means that there are 0 cars in the streets all day and everyone goes out walking and riding their bikes around. So, as missionaries, we took advantage of the fact that everyone would be outside walking around in crazy heat. We set up a table with free juice and lots of pamphlets. So when people saw that there was free cold chicha morada, they all came to us and we contacted so many people! I felt so confident and proud to represent Christ. I felt so much better about my ability to talk to whoever about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is awesome how open people are here. Many people were very willing to let the missionaries come to their house to teach them. I know that God did most of that work on them. He put them on a path on their bikes that would lead them right to us. Right to the truth.

I also learned the importance of listening to the promptings of the spirit. My companion is so good at that. At listening to exactly what she should say and do. She felt that we should bring a registry of an old investigator named Gina, just in case our appointments fell through. Turns out they all fell through, so we called up this investigator and even though we were really far from her house, she was very excited we called and invited us to come over. So we went, and she said it really was a miracle we found her home because she is almost never home. We didn't know much about her, but we found out that she had all the lessons and had a baptismal date before, but was just scared. So we shared scriptures that I had never thought to share before, and they really touched her. She accepted another baptismal date with us. She is amazing and I am so grateful for the opportunity God gave us to find her.

I know that God has His hand in everything. I know that it is so much easier to listen to the Holy Ghost when you have peace and unity in a companionship. I love LOVE being a missionary and I am changing so much.
Quick spiritual thought: When you forget why you are here, look back at everything that has put you where you are. We have all seen and experienced a lot. Some more than others, but because of that we are all different. We all have different reasons to keep going everyday, but when those reasons run out, it is time to look back at the things that kept you going before.

Love you all!

Fun Facts:
-This week there was a random dog from the street that just walked into sacrament meeting and nobody reacted. I guess that is completely normal here.
-In the streets there are little boys who work cleaning windshields. When the taxis stop at stoplights they just come up and clean their window until the light turns green.
